What Powers the 2023 Ram 1500?
The Ram 1500’s 3.6-liter V6 engine continues to kick off the engine lineup in the 2023 model year, offering 305 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, hauling up to 7,730 pounds. The V6 engine puts eTorque mild-hybrid technology to use to achieve excellent fuel economy. Meanwhile, the famed 5.7L HEMI V8 comes standard with the Limited trim while available for the rest of the lineup. The HEMI engine offers 395 horsepower, 410 lb-ft of torque, and a maximum towing capacity of 11,610 pounds. Meanwhile, when the V8 engine is equipped with the optional eTorque system, a 12,750-pound towing capacity is achieved. The Ram 1500 lineup’s last available engine is the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6, which offers 260 horsepower and an impressive 480 lb-ft of torque for a 12,560-pound towing capacity. Lastly, exclusive to the Ram 1500 TRX is a supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8. The supercharged engine delivers a pavement-pounding 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, giving it a 0-60 time of just 4.5 seconds. While rear-wheel drive is standard equipment, 4x4 is what you’ll more commonly find here in Ohio, as it better handles our unpredictable weather.
New Features for the 2023 Ram 1500
The 2023 Ram 1500 offers numerous new features. For new tech, Ram made a new 12-inch, fully-digital gauge cluster available for the Ram 1500. While it comes standard with the Limited trim, the digital gauge is optional for most trim levels. With the digital gauge cluster, you can customize the screen behind the steering wheel to show you vital information such as speed, driver assists, vehicle dynamics, and more. Using reconfigurable tiles, you can arrange the display to show you the information most important to you. Also new for 2023 is the wider availability of Selec-Speed, which is essentially cruise control for off-roading situations. It allows you to set a speed and the truck will maintain that speed automatically so you can focus on steering. In 2023, Selec-Speed comes standard with the Rebel and all models equipped with the Off-Road Group and Back Country Package. Lastly, the Ram 1500 Limited is available with the Limited Elite package, which takes the luxurious Limited trim to a new level with a panoramic sunroof, reclining rear seats, locking in-floor storage, premium leather seating, 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio, power deploying running boards, a deployable bed step, a bed extender, a multifunction tailgate, and more.
What Are the Trim Levels and Features of the 2023 Ram 1500?
The lineup of Ram 1500 trim levels is extensive and well-equipped. A solid baseline is provided by the Tradesman trim, featuring 18-inch steel wheels, active grille shutters, power windows/door locks, power-adjustable side mirrors with a heating component, vinyl upholstery, cruise control, and air conditioning. The Big Horn follows with chrome alloy wheels, chrome grille accents, in-floor storage for crew cab models only, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and available options including a dual-pane sunroof, an 8.4- or 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, and more. Up next is the Laramie trim, with more convenience and comfort features, including leather-trimmed upholstery, 10-way power front seats, heated/cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, an 8.4-inch touchscreen with navigation, Alpine premium audio with ten speakers, and remote start.
