Fall Car Care Tips

Brought to you by Kufleitner CDJR

Are you someone who is very conscious of the changing of the seasons and what that means for your life? It’s important to never forget about your vehicle while you are getting everything else fall and winter ready. At Kufleitner CDJR, we want to make sure that our customers are taking care of their vehicles, especially when the cooler weather starts to set in. We all know how brutal it can be in Ohio, so now is the best time to take care of your vehicle and stay on top of things. Down below we are going to be going through some helpful fall car care tips in order to get you as prepared as possible. We recommend scheduling service with us if any of the suggestions are out of your comfort zone, we would be happy to help!

Check lights

We know that this is something that you are likely very aware of, but when it starts to get darker, your lights become more important than ever. That is why we not only want to be checking the bulbs themselves, we also want to be looking at the clarity of each light lens. When your lights are cloudy, they aren’t nearly as effective in showing you what is in front of you on the road. You’ll be able to find many different ways to clean your headlights online, and we can give you some helpful tips if you come into our service center for service.

Inspect battery

We never want to linger on a subject for too long, but we cant never understate the importance of a functioning battery. Cooler weather leads to batteries working harder than ever, including using more power to start up your vehicle. At Kufleitner CDJR, we can check your battery for you. This means seeing how well it is holding its charge, cleaning any of the connections, and even completely replacing the battery if we deem that it will not last you throughout the winter.

Assess wipers

While windshield wipers are always important, thanks to the ever-present need for visibility, they become even more necessary in fall and winter. During the fall, now is a great time to check your wipers, see how they are functioning, and even completely replace them. Many people end up changing their wipers every six months. Along the same line of thinking, you should also be checking the fluid level of the windshield wiper fluid. This is also an essential, and if it’s low, then it’s time to fill it back up!

Brake check

Let’s just say, brakes and their reliability become even more vital when the leaves change and the weather starts to cool. You need to make sure that your brakes will work with you, instead of against you. This means inspecting brake fluid levels, the condition, and the overall performance, especially of the master cylinder.
