2021 Jeep Wrangler vs 2021 Ford Bronco

There is some competition for the best off-roading SUV starting to brew between the 2021 Jeep Wrangler and the 2021 Ford Bronco. To help you determine which one of these SUVs is the right one for your incredibly busy and adventurous lifestyle, we are pitting them against each other. That’s right we are putting these models to the test, comparing all that they have to offer from engine options to the trim levels and all their features. Keep reading to find out which off-roading SUV comes out as the victor!

2021 Jeep Wrangler Power & Handling

The Wrangler can be powered by one of four engines in the 2021 model year. The base engine is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that produces 260 lb-ft of torque and 285 hp. This engine comes with Jeep’s mild-hybrid system and either a manual or automatic transmission. All models can be powered by the available 270 hp 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder that creates 295 lb-ft of torque while four-door models offer a 3.0L turbodiesel V6 that generates 442 lb-ft of torque and 260 hp. The final engine, a plug-in hybrid, uses the 4-cylinder engine, a 27 kWh hybrid battery, and two electric motor-generators to produce 470 lb-ft of torque and 375 hp. The latter three engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. 4WD is standard for the Wrangler and offered in three different 4x4 systems.

2021 Ford Bronco Power & Handling

There are just two engines offered for the Ford Bronco. The first is a 270 hp 2.3-liter turbo that produces 310 lb-ft of torque. The second is a 2.7-liter twin-turbo that generates 310 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. Drivers can choose between a manual and an automatic transmission with the Bronco as well. There are only two 4x4 systems to choose from, however. This engine lineup is really lacking, with no diesel or plug-in hybrid options to see.

2021 Jeep Wrangler Features & Design

Drivers have four main Wrangler trim levels and two body styles to choose from. Standard features include crank windows, a 5-inch touchscreen with Jeep’s Uconnect infotainment system, skid plates, manual door locks, a fold-down windshield, 17-inch steel wheels, fog lights, and an 8-speaker sound system. The upper trim levels and sub-trims add to the Sport with features like all-weather floor mats, larger wheels, leather upholstery, a sport-tuned suspension, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, LED lighting, a 9-speaker Alpine sound system, parking sensors, keyless entry and ignition, and more. The Rubicon trim level is the most well-equipped for off-roading with features like electronic locking front and rear differentials, heavy-duty front and rear axles, a soft-top roof, rock rails, and so much more!

2021 Ford Bronco Features & Design

Drivers have seven Bronco trim levels to choose from. However, they are all pretty sparingly equipped with just a few features that make the drive enjoyable. These features like carpet flooring that is going to age fast with regular off-roading, skid plates, remote engine tarst, daytime running lights, unique graphic options, an 8-inch touchscreen, and a premium sound system. Overall, the Bronco lineup is severely lacking and for a brand-new model, that is just not going to cut it!
