2020 Ram 1500 vs Ford F-150

The journey to getting a new pickup truck doesn’t have to be as stressful as you might be expecting. Everything is a little easier when the options are narrowed down, which is why we are primarily going to be focusing on two of the top competitors. This includes the 2020 Ram 1500 and the 2020 Ford F-150. Both of these trucks are ready to bring their ‘A’ game. The Ram 1500 starts everything off with a new EcoDiesel engine, a few appearance group packages, a mild hybrid eTorque system, and the kind of styling that you’re looking for. The Ford F-150 is now offering its diesel engine on more trims, it is expanding the Co-Pilot360 package, and it is working hard to include multiple trims and configurations. Ready to find out more? Keep reading down below to find out which truck we recommend.

2020 Ram 1500 Power & Handling

No one should be expecting anything less than the most impressive amounts of power with the 2020 Ram 1500. That is why, when we tell you that this beast offers you three different engines, you won’t be surprised. All three of the engines are offered with 2WD and 4WD, and they even get an eight-speed automatic transmission. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6, which produces around 269 lb-ft of torque and 305 horsepower. New in 2020 is this 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6, which can offer you 480 lb-ft of torque and 260 horsepower. The final engine that we are looking at here is a 5.7-liter V8. This engine can produce 410 lb-ft of torque and around 395 horsepower.

2020 Ford F-150 Power & Handling

Ford, on the other hand, really overdoes it with its engine lineup. While we do enjoy options, Ford doesn’t seem to know what they want the F-150 to be. The standard engine is a weak 3.3-liter V6, which outputs 290 horsepower and around 265 lb-ft of torque. The rest of the lineup includes a 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6, a turbodiesel 3.0-liter V6, a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, and a 5.0-liter V8. Both 2WD and 4WD are available, although we’re still unconvinced about the need for so many engines when they aren’t nearly as reliable as what the Ram 1500 is offering you.

2020 Ram 1500 Features & Design

Moving on, the Ram 1500 doesn’t just stop its superiority with its powertrain. You will also be able to enjoy a great trim lineup, which includes all of the features that you could possibly need. Some of the standard features include a rearview camera, power windows and locks, air conditioning, a 5-inch touchscreen, Uconnect 3, and keyless entry. A few of the available features include steering-wheel audio controls, a fully dampened tailgate, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a 9-speaker Alpine audio system, premium leather seating, an air suspension, and blind-spot monitoring.
